Never picked up knitting needles before? This one's for you!

Whether you're a complete beginner or it's been years since you last picked up a pair of needles, our From Cast On to Keepsake course is the perfect place to start.

Over three relaxed and friendly Monday evenings, we'll take you from your very first stitch to creating two beautiful, practical projects of your own.

You'll start with a cotton dishcloth or facecloth using straight needles, then build your confidence and move on to a cosy cowl using circular needles.

No experience needed, just a willingness to give it a go!

The Details

📅 When: Three consecutive Monday evenings, 9^th, 16^th, 23^rd November

🕠 Time: 5:30pm – 7:00pm

📍 Where: Tauranga Knitting Centre, Eleventh Avenue Plaza, Tauranga

💰 Cost: $110 per person – all materials included!

🧶 Class size: Maximum 6 people, so there's plenty of individual attention.

What You'll Learn

Week 1 – Let's Get Knitting!

Get comfortable with your needles, yarn and pattern. Learn how to cast on, master the knit & purl stitches and start your very own cotton dishcloth or facecloth.

Week 2 – Finding Your Rhythm

Build on your new skills with ribbing and casting off. Then we'll introduce circular needles and get started on your cosy cowl.

Week 3 – You've Got This!

Learn to knit in the round, read a simple pattern, fix common mistakes and keep working on your cowl. You'll leave with the confidence to tackle your next knitting adventure!

There will be homework so you will need a little knitting time at home between sessions to finish your projects.

Everything Is Included!

Your course fee includes:

• 1 50gm ball of cotton yarn for your dishcloth/facecloth
• 1 pair of straight knitting needles
• 2 50gm balls of wool for your cowl
• 1 circular knitting needle
• Easy-to-follow patterns and instructions
• 4.5 hours of friendly, hands-on tuition

Booking Information

Spaces are limited to just 6 participants, with a minimum of 4 required for the course to go ahead.

Cancellation Policy

Payment is required in full to secure your place.

• Cancellations made 7 days or more before the course begins will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date are non-refundable, unless we can fill your place.
• No refunds are available once the course has started or for missed sessions.
• If Tauranga Knitting Centre needs to cancel the course, a full refund will be provided.
