All you need is your imagination.
We have everything else.
Welcome to Tauranga Knitting Centre
Your next project starts here
Beautiful yarn, good advice and plenty of reasons to cast on.
Welcome to Tauranga Knitting Centre — your local yarn shop in the Bay of Plenty, and online across New Zealand, Australia and even further.
We’re here for the yarn you can’t stop touching, the project you can’t stop thinking about, clever little tools, fresh ideas and the occasional “I have absolutely no idea what this pattern means” moment.
Whether you’ve been knitting forever, are picking up needles for the first time, or have fallen in love with a pattern and now need the perfect yarn, we’d love to help you find your next happy cast-on.
A new chapter at TKC
From 1 October 2026, Tauranga Knitting Centre has new owners — Pania and Nick.
We’re very excited to be taking on a shop that already means a lot to its customers and to Tauranga’s knitting community.
We’re keeping the things people love and adding a few new ideas of our own.
Expect new yarns, new designers, more inspiration online, easier ways to shop, more help for beginners and probably quite a lot of discussion about what we should knit next.
Most importantly, TKC will still be the kind of place where you can walk in with a pattern, half a project, a knitting disaster or just an idea — and ask for help.
We can’t wait to meet you.
