Sock Classes

Several options are available for you to learn to make socks for you and yours, there's something to suit everyone.  Your Sock-Knitting Kit will include yarn of your choice from the Opal, Patonyle or Touch Sock yarns, knitting needles (either a circular needle or double-pointed needles, depending on the class you choose), a pattern, and of course the tutorials.  Your Sock-Knitting Kit price varies according to the class you decide to do, details below.

Magic Loop

A 3-session tutorial, run fortnightly on Saturday afternoons.  You will make your own sock using the Magic Loop Technique (circular needle).  We use Addi needles, superb German-made needles with a cable that's soft and flexible.  Your Sock-Knitting Kit for this class will be $75.

Double-Pointed Needles (DPN's)

A 3-session tutorial, run fortnightly on Saturday afternoons.  You will make your own sock using DPN's.  For this class you will have the choice of metal or plastic dpn's.  Your Sock-Knitting Kit for this class will be $65.

Sock Construction

A single afternoon session in which you will learn the basics of sock construction and produce a baby sock to prove it.  The cost will vary, depending on whether you choose to use a circular needle or dpn's.  Your Sock-Knitting Kit for this class will contain a pattern including different sock sizes from baby through to men's socks, a ball of Cleckheaton Merino Bambino 25gm, more than enough to produce a pair of newborn socks, your needle/s and the tutorial itself.  For dpn's the cost will be $25, and for Magic Loop the cost will be $35.
